The Minister of Defence Visited the Company “Beretta” in Milan
In the framework of the official visit to Italy, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited today the Company “Beretta” in Milan, the renowned world producer of arms and military equipment, for the purpose of considering the opportunities for the establishment of cooperation with the factories of Serbian defence industry.
The minister toured the plants of the “Beretta” company, and got introduced to the production programme and met the owner Franco Beretta.
- “Beretta” is one of the largest producers of weapons in Europe and world, and certainly it is a company that can teach us a lot about technology and appearance on third markets “Beretta” is highly interested in certain factories of our defence industry and we have agreed that, by the end of the year and when the new law on investment in our defence industry that would enable foreigners to invest in it, we should be far more concrete and receive concrete offers from that company and we should in return have concrete offers of our part – the minister of defence said.
He estimated that it was an excellent investment opportunity having in mind that “when Beretta comes in a country, when it starts the production, it is a signal for all world producers that they should be there as well”.
- Company “Beretta” is also interested in cooperating with our Zastava. Of course, Kragujevac is a town that knows Italy very well, and Italy knows Kragujevac well. They are quite satisfied with our human capacities, meaning the skill of our craftsmen and inventiveness of our engineers. They require investments in certain new production processes, which we are lacking at this moment. Furthermore, they are interested in certain factories of ours which produce ammunition. Obviously there is much room for mutual cooperation, and the moment when we are in a position to legally arrange this field, which is going to be done by the end of the year, we can certainly expect that “Beretta” will be a part of our market and that we will be able to discuss concrete investments with them – Minister Vulin stated.
Tomorrow Minster Vulin will also visit Italian company “Leonardo” with its headquarters located in Rome.
