Vulin with Archbishop of Greece - Kosovo and Metohija are the Serbian Acropolis
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who is on a two-day visit to the Hellenic Republic, met today with the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece His Beatitude Ieronymos II.
During the talks, Minister Vulin expressed gratitude to the Greek Orthodox Church for the support it provides for the preservation of the Serbian identity and Orthodoxy in Kosovo and Metohija, which the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos II called the "Serbian Acropolis".
His Beatitude Ieronymos II said that wherever the voice of the Greek Orthodox Church is heard, and it is heard far and is very influential, they will repeat that Kosovo and Metohija are Serbian and that all the sanctuaries in Kosovo and Metohija are Serbian.
Minister Vulin emphasized that the Greek Orthodox Church has always been a great support and a great pillar in the struggle of the Serbian people to preserve itself, its culture, history and tradition in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
- When the Greek Orthodox Church understands this well and deeply what is the essence of our struggle, then we can be sure that we will have great and wide support throughout the entire Greek nation. His Beatitude asked me to convey greetings to the state leadership and our church and once again confirmed that the Greek Church, great, influential and respected, will always be with the Serb people. Whenever a discussion is raised in the UNESCO or in any attempt by the Kosovo authorities to take over the Serbian cultural heritage, Orthodox cultural heritage to become someobne else's, our traces to extinguish, the Greek Church will be with us to say that this is not true and that this is not possible, Minister Vulin concluded.
During an official visit to the Hellenic Republic, Minister Vulin met yesterday with National Defence Minister Panos Kammenos and Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
