“7th CISM Challenge Cup in Skyrunning – Kopaonik 2017” Competed



Private First Class of Serbian Armed Forces Nataša Ćulafić won the first place in female individual competition at the 7th CISM Challenge Cup in Skyrunning” which was held today on the Kopaonik Mountain. Extremely strong competition and ideal conditions that “the Serbian beauty” mountain Kopaonik offers for the competitions of this sort, contributed to the achievement of high quality results. Military teams from seven countries participated in the competition and apart from male and female teams of Serbian Armed Forces, the teams from abroad came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Romania and Poland.


The second place in the 6,000 metres long race in female individual competition also went to a competitor from Serbia – civilian Ksenija Bubnjević, while the bronze was won by Elena Moaga from Romania. The third representative of the Republic of Serbia in the competition, Private First Class Mariana Lukić won the fifth place.

In the competition of female teams, the first place was won by the team of Serbian Armed Forces; the second place was taken by the team of Romanian Armed Forces, while the bronze was won by the team of the Armed Forces of Poland.

In the male individual competition in the 8,800 metres long race, the first three places were won by the representatives of the Armed Forces of Romania, soldiers Katalin Atanasoie, Jonut Betej and Marius Buska. The most successful member of Serbian national team was Private Đuro Borbelj who was placed fourth, while Private First Class Miroslav Marković, Private First Class Mirko Stanković and Sergeant Bojan Dragojlović won seventh, eleventh and thirteen place.

In the male competition of teams, the most successful was the team from Romanian Armed Forces; the second was the team from Serbia while the third place and the bronze medal went to the team of the Armed Forces of Poland.

In the national ranking where the placement of the most successful male competitors (three of them) and two female competitors (two of them) was added, the most successful was Romania, while the second place was won by Serbia and the third place was won by Poland.

Celebrated Serbian athletes Vera Nikolić, the competition promoter and Dragan Zdravković handed the cups to the most successful competitors.

The organiser of the 7th CISM Challenge Cup in Skyrunning were the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, and the technical realisation was done by the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the International Military Sports Council CISM with the support of local governments of Raška, and Brus, MK Resort, NP Kopaonik, PC Ski Tracks of Serbia and the Athletics Association of Serbia.
