Relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation Cannot Be Conditioned by Anything
The Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Alexander Chepurin.
During the talks, where Vulin found himself in the role of host for the first time in his capacity as the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, the mutual satisfaction was expressed with the achieved continuity in development of defence cooperation as well as belief that strengthening of bilateral military cooperation would be continued in the period to come.
Vulin extended gratitude for the assistance that Russia has been providing to Serbia in its struggle to preserve territorial integrity and sovereignty in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, and for the support to our efforts to become full members of the EU which is our foreign policy priority, as well as maintaining balanced relations with partners in the East and the West.
During the talks, other military and political topics were also covered, that are significant for both sides, and the issue of migrant crisis was also addressed, as well as the fight against terrorism and other security challenges, and it was concluded that the events of the previous period point out to the fact that it is solely through joining forces that the world can counter terrorism and other threats to security that know no boundaries.
Ambassador Chepurin conferred to Minister Vulin an invitation of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shoygu to attend the International Military Games that are going to take place in Moscow region.
