Taking the military oath
The ceremonies on the occasion of taking oath by June 2017 generation of soldiers on voluntary military service were held today in the barracks in Valjevo and Leskovac.
Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Ljubiša Diković, with the associates, Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Jelesija Radivojević, Bishop of Valjevo Milutin, representatives of local authorities, members of families, relatives and friends of soldiers attended the solemn military act at the Field Marshal Živojin Mišić barracks in Valjevo
- For its freedom today, which we all enjoy, many lives were given, especially of our grandfathers, great-grandfathers, our celebrated ancestors and all those who defended our country with their bodies and succeeded in it creating conditions for us to execute our tasks in peace and freedom - the Chief of General Staff said.
According to him, the military oath in Serbia has always occupied a prominent place in the system of values of our people.
In the "Vojvoda Petar Bojovic" barracks in Leskovac, Commander of the Training Command, Lieutenant General Đokica Petrović, congratulating the soldiers on the taken military oath, pointed out that he was especially proud because they gave a good example to all young men and girls to love and wish this honorable profession of ours - the military profession.
He added that members of the Serbian Armed Forces, performing their tasks in the best way, are guarding the Republic of Serbia and taking care of the security of its citizens.

The ceremony in Leskovac was also attended by Radmila Jagodić, Assistant Minister of Defence for Budget and Finances, Brigadier General Duško Žarković, Head of Operations Department of the General Staff, Colonel Igor Avdić, Head of Civil-Military Cooperation Division, Presidents of Municipalities of Vlasotince and Medveđa and representatives of the town of Leskovac and the municipalities of Bojnik and Lebane, church, police, schools and other institutions and organizations as well as parents and friends of soldiers.
