Celebration on the Occasion of the Reconnaissance and Reporting Service Day and the Day of 126th Air Surveillance, Early Warning and Guidance Brigade
Today, in Belgrade barracks “Banjica”, 18th June was officially observed as the Day of Reconnaissance and Reporting Service and of the 126th Air Surveillance, Early Warning and Guidance Brigade.
The celebration was attended by Deputy Commander of AF and AD, Brigadier General Sava Milenković, Commanders of the units stationed in the barracks, previous commanders and retired members of the Brigade, representatives of local authorities and guests.
Commander of 126thAir Surveillance, Early Warning and Guidance Brigade, Colonel PredragĐorđević reminded of the results achieved in the period between the two celebrations and pointed out that “the achieved level of operational capabilities of the unit has been maintained”:- We have equipped ourselves with TPS-70 radars, with new automation assets, MC VOJ M-11 of domestic production, we have highly successfully conducted the advancement training for the work with the said assets, and on the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, our unit was decorated by the President of the Republic of Serbia with the Third Degree Medal of Merit in the Field of Defence and Security. The period ahead of us requires our engagement for discharging numerous tasks and obligations, among which I underline the preparations and deployment of a platoon level unit to the multinational operation in Cyprus – ColonelĐorđević stated.
Furthermore, during today’s ceremony stimulative measures were awarded which was followed by official units march-past.As part of marking the Day of Reconnaissance and Reporting Service and of the 126th Air Surveillance, Early Warning and Guidance Brigade, wreaths and flowers were laid at the monument dedicated to the killed members of the brigade, Lieutenants SinišaRadić and ŽeljkoSavičić.
