Đorđević and Vučević about the Plans for Infrastructure in Novi Sad
The Minister of Defence, Zoran Đorđević met with the Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević with whom he discussed the resolution of the issue of spatial distribution of the organisational units of the Serbian Armed Forces and of urban development for Novi Sad in relation to the units of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Đorđević and Vučević talked about the concession of military real estates in the town of Novi Sad and about building a military base “Majurska Ada”, and about the opportunities for the provision of a number of flats for active and retired members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
During the meeting, it was agreed that the Ministry of Defence and the town of Novi Sad, in cooperation with the National Directorate for Property and Building Directorate of Serbia sign a new Protocol in the forthcoming period that would define steps for the concession of military facilities in Novi Sad and building “Majurska Ada”.
At the meeting, the interlocutors agreed that the realisation of these tasks is important and represents a turning point in development of the town of Novi Sad in terms of its infrastructure, and that it would provide employment for great number of people, contribute to engagement of construction sector, and provision of adequate accommodation and other capacities for the Serbian Armed Forces.
One of the topics of the discussion between Minister Đorđević and Mayor Vučević was possible concession of real estate used by the Ministry of Defence in Novi Sad for the purpose of constructing Athletics stadium.
