Defence Minister talked to NCOs and professional soldiers from the Guard
The Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic talked today to NCOs and professional soldiers from the Serbian Armed Forces Guard in “Dedinje” barracks.
In the continuation of direct talks with the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the Defence Minister informed NCOs and professional soldiers about the plans for the improvement of the material status of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the set of measures which would additionally enhance the status of the employees in the defence system.
Minister Djordjevic emphasized that a lot of problems and dilemmas of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces could be solved in direct communication and he would continue with meetings of this type in the following period.
“The contracts with some supermarket chains, then advantages for purchase of books and school supplies, travel arrangements, vehicles and possibilities to get up to 7 percent discount for purchase of oil at the Serbian Petroleum Industry gas stations will not solve all problems of our members, but it will improve the status of the employees in the defence system”, Minister Djordjevic said. He stressed that the Ministry of Defence would constantly work on the enhancement of the material status of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
Minister Djordjevic added that he had recently had meetings with representatives of public utility companies, which deal with the green space in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Krusevac, as well as representatives of “Serbia Forests” and “Vojvodina Forests”. They talked about possibilities for those organizations to overtake the job of maintaining green areas and forests in the military compounds. He reminded them that he had talked with representatives of the SBB Company about assistance in the enhancement of living and working conditions of members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior engaged within the Joint Force in protection of the state border and in the Ground Safety Zone.
Mr. Djordjevic concluded that such meetings with the members of the Serbian Armed Forces would continue, and that in talks with public and private companies he would strive to find modalities for the improvement of the status of the Serbian Armed Forces members.
