Minister Đorđević at the Conference of Defence Attachés
The Minister of Defence, Zoran Đorđević, addressed today Defence Attachés gathered at the seventh Conference of Defence Attachés of the Republic of Serbia at the Guard Club in Topčider.
The gathering, led by the Deputy Director of the Military Intelligence Agency, Colonel Zoran Stojković, was attended by the closest associates of the Minister of Defence as well as the members of the Military Security Agency.
On that occasion, Minister Đorđević underlined that the Defence Attachés represent a mirror of our Armed Forces and our state in the world, and that their work and actions abroad are perceived as the image of our state.The situation in today’s world is not in the least simple, but you should always be on the side of the Republic of Serbia and Serbia should always be on your mind – said Minister Đorđević and added that one of the most important tasks of a Defence Attaché is to raise the reputation of our country to a higher level and through his/her presentations and appearances to try to represent Serbia the way it truly is.
According to the Minister, we are a proud people, which has always fought on the side of winners and justice, and the strategic decision of our country is the road towards the European Union and military neutrality.
During his speech, Đorđević underscored the significance of international military exercises with as many different armed forces as possible from all around the world, as an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and development of bilateral relations. The Minister of Defence also touched upon equipping the Serbian Armed Forces and its modernisation in the previous year, the results of defence industry of our country, the participation in multinational operations and on the current security challenges with which our country is faced.Speaking about the importance of the Conference, Deputy Director of MIA, Colonel Stojković pointed out that the gathering was an excellent opportunity to conduct an analysis of the work that Defence Attachés carried out in the previous year and to get instructions and clear tasks for the following year from all the relevant people from defence system.
The final part of today’s meeting was dedicated to questions of the Defence Attachés and discussion with Minister Đorđević.
