Gender Training of Trainers Course



Курс за обуку инструктора из области родне равноправностиThe Peacekeeping Operations Centre today began the “Gender Training of Trainers” (GToT) course. The course involves 16 participants from the Republic of Ghana and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Uganda, while the team of instructors will include instructors from the Regional Network of Gender Trainers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations of the Serbian Armed Forces. The course is supported by the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations (NCGM) and the UNDP’s SEESAC initiative.
 
Курс за обуку инструктора из области родне равноправностиTraining on the importance of gender mainstreaming in all activities and tasks that are carried out in the field, as well as the activities, programmes and plans at higher levels is particularly important segment of training. The Peacekeeping Operations Centre is the first in the region that began with the implementation of specialized courses in this field. According to the Head of the Training Division, Lieutenant Colonel Goran Topalović, “Gender in UN Peacekeeping Operations” course has been carried out at the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations on an annual basis since 2012. while gender is the central theme in many other courses and seminars organized by this institution.
 
The course runs until 15 December.
