Defence Minister receives representatives of the Association of Military Pensioners
President of the Association, which brings together some 27,000 military retirees, retired Lieutenant General Ljubomir Draganjac, briefed the Minister of Defence about the current activities and initiatives of the Association.
The delegation of the military pensioners expressed the greatest interest in the announced organizational changes in the military health care, that is, the manner in which they will affect their treatment and health care.
Minister Djordjević introduced the representatives of the Association to the changes that the military health care reform should bring about and stressed that they are aimed primarily at improving health care for active and retired military personnel. He added that the efforts are devoted to enhancing the housing for military retirees.
Lieutenant General retired Marko Negovanović added that the protest of the trade union is not the way for solving the problem but the impact on military subordination, and that the political vocabulary could be heard at the protest, not that of the union, which is unacceptable for the members of the military.
At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the Association expressed their gratitude to the Minister of Defence Zoran Djordjevic for open and cordial conversation and conveyed their support to the reform activities of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence.
