State Secretary Neric with the Chief of Staff of Joint Force Command Naples
State Secretary Nenad Neric met with the new Chief of Staff of the Joint Force Command Naples, Lieutenant-General Luciano Portolano. During the meeting they exchanged opinions on the achieved level of cooperation and discussed the modalities for improving cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and the Joint Force Command Naples.
At the meeting, it was concluded that the deepened dialogue, reflected in numerous meetings of senior political and military officials in the previous period, supplemented practical forms of cooperation established through numerous mechanisms of the Partnership for Peace and greatly contributes to a better understanding between the two sides.
State Secretary Neric pointed out that active participation of the Republic of Serbia in activities under the auspices of the Partnership for Peace represents the optimum framework for the achievement of security goals and improving defence capabilities, while retaining the policy of military neutrality. He highlighted the significant contribution of the Republic of Serbia in the UN peacekeeping operations and stressed in particular the high percentage of participation of women.
Also, Neric stressed that, in addition to cooperation under the Partnership for Peace, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces are building mutual relations through cooperation with KFOR, which is one of our priority tasks and stressed the great contribution of the Joint Force Command Naples, which is responsible for the KFOR mission in maintaining peace and security, protection of non-Albanian population and Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
