Concert on the occasion of 40 years of artistic work of conductor Pavle Medakovic
On the occasion of 40 years of artistic work of conductor Pavle Medakovic, Stanislav Binicki Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence, whose member the maestro has been for almost three decades, had a concert at the Kolarac Hall, last night.
The reputable military orchestra, under the baton of Mr Medakovic, performed works by Mozart, Wagner, Liszt and Weber. The soloist was a prominent pianist Dejan Sinadinovic. The concert was attended by Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic, Secretary of State Nenad Neric, members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and the citizens.
The audience, which especially loudly welcomed a masterful performance of a favourite Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.24 in C minor, K.491, did not save their palms clapping vigorously to the celebrant for his four-decade-long artistic work, during which he made numerous appearances with leading orchestras and artists in the country and abroad.
Pavle Medakovic has been chief conductor in the Stanislav Binicki Ensemble for 28 years and his rich artistic career has been adorned with diverse repertoire of choral, symphonic, opera and oratorio musical works and numerous awards at home and abroad.
He started as a choir conductor in Branko Krsmanovic Academic Cultural Artistic Society and, in addition to his other important engagements during 2000 and 2001, he acted as Director of the Belgrade Philharmonic.
