Exercise Slavic Brotherhood 2016 ended



Завршена вежба „Словенско братство 2016“A tactical and technical display of manpower and materiel was organized today at Pasuljanske livade combined service training range within the framework of multinational exercise “Slavic Brotherhood 2016”. The final segment of the exercise “Slavic Brotherhood 2016” involving the members of Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and Serbian Armed Forces was attended by President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nenad Nerić, Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubiša Diković, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister of the Republic of Belarus Major General Oleg Alekseevich Belokonev, representatives of the Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, and diplomatic corps.

Giving “a very good” mark to the exercise and achieved results, President Nikolić stressed that Serbian Armed Forces had continued conducting exercises with armies of many countries in the world.

Завршена вежба „Словенско братство 2016““I am happy that during exercises members of Serbian Armed Forces equally perform set tasks, but of course, no one would be happy to have to apply such knowledge in real situations. We have a common goal in the fight against terrorism and there is no country without interest to fight against terrorism – stressed President Nikolić, congratulating all participants in the exercise on understanding, despite severe weather conditions in which the exercise was conducted, why our country and others allocate the small amounts they have to make servicemen better trained and equipped.
 
Завршена вежба „Словенско братство 2016“Talking about the exercise, General Diković emphasized that during previous days the members of three armies had conducted joint operations in fight against terrorism with the aim to check interoperability of units, their readiness and capabilities to fight together against one of the greatest challenges of world security – terrorism. „Serbian Armed Forces have conducted such and similar exercises with members of the armed forces of other countries“ – stressed General Diković adding that the exercise „Slavic Brotherhood 2016“ is unique in many segments, mainly in the domain of its content, actions and great similarity between the main principles in fighting against terrorism and great training capacities of three armies.

Завршена вежба „Словенско братство 2016“Giving an excellent mark to the conducted exercise, Head of Reconnaissance Section of the Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Major General Oleg Olegovich Polguyev said that the members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had executed all tasks with a high mark. “This was an anti-terrorist exercise and we carried out all tasks together. We used all our capabilities of materiel and manpower and everything went according to a plan”- stressed Major General Polguyev adding that this exercise has become a traditional one.
 
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus Major General Belokonev gave a positive mark of the exercise and its results stressing that it gives a chance to practice activities within international cooperation with the aim of interoperability. He also announced the plan to carry out the exercise “Slavic Brotherhood” next year at the territory of Belarus.
 
Multinational exercise “Slavic Brotherhood 2016” was carried out from 3rd to 9th November 2016 at Pasuljanske livade combined service training range, Orešac direct fire engagement system and Kovin and Batajnica airports. The tactical exercise involved 212 members of Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, 56 members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and 450 members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
