Agreement on military cooperation between Serbia and Austria

- We crowned the two-day visit of the Austrian Minister of Defence and Sports by signing the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of CBRN and arrangements for continuation of internships of the Austrian Military Academy cadets of CBRN branch in units of the Serbian Armed Forces in 2017. We invited the Austrian colleagues to participate in the next multinational CBRN exercise which is scheduled for 2018, Minister Djordjevic said.
One of the indispensable topics of discussion between the two ministers was the migration crisis. Djordjevic said that Serbia, although a non-EU country, is trying to act as a responsible member of the international community, to assume its share of the load and provide an adequate response to this challenge.
- In this regard, we are grateful to Austria for the offered assistance and support they provide, minister Djordjevic said expressing the hope that the good cooperation between the two countries will be continued.
Thanking for the extremely warm welcome in Serbia, Minister of Defence and Sports of Austria, Hans Peter Doskozil. said that Austria recognizes the importance of the region in dealing with migrant crisis that has hit not only the European Union countries, but also many others.

- This region begins near Vienna and therefore there is plenty of room for bilateral cooperation between our two countries, especially the military one, but also economic and every other, Austria Minister of Defence and Sports, Hans Peter Doskozil, said.
Austrian Minister of Defence and Sports, Hans Peter Doskozil, visited today the CBRN Training Centre in Krusevac, where he reviewed the working conditions and capacities to accommodate participants of international courses.
The members of the Austrian delegation visited several seminar rooms of the Centre – CBRN tactics seminar rooms, self-access English language learning centres, for CBRN simulations, electronic classroom, CBRN decontamination and CBRN protection seminar rooms, CBRN topography seminar rooms and others.
At the end of the visit, Minister Doskozil visited the static display of the CBRN military equipment.
