Diploma-Awarding Ceremony for graduates of the Second Class of the MMA Faculty of Medicine
At the Military Medical Academy, today, diplomas of integrated studies of medicine were awarded to the Second Class of the MMA Faculty of Medicine of the University of Defence in Belgrade. The meeting was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Defence, teaching staff of the MMA Faculty of Medicine, male and female cadets and their parents.
Male and female cadets were addressed by Colonel Prof. Dragan Dincic, Deputy Head of MMA. He pointed out that youth is the greatest value of Serbia, and the youth of the military medical personnel is, according to him, further enriched with vast knowledge.
- What remains to us is, if we know and if we can, to slightly open the windows or doors, so that you can continue to walk without or with as little friction as possible, or at least not to do something that would slow down the steps or take away too much power – Colonel Prof. Dincic said. He pointed out that the Faculty of Medicine, together with the Military Medical Academy, became "an efficient producer of young doctors" and he will always take the opportunity in talks with a number of foreign delegations that visit the MMA, to note that they are probably the best of the best. MMA Deputy Head said that he was looking forward to their first jobs, and personally their arrivals on specializations, further education.
Cadets were conferred diplomas, first the best ranked ones - Nemanja Jacimovic, with GPA 10.00, Jadranka Zaric, with GPA 9.98 and Jelena Katic with GPA 9.96. Then they took the Hippocratic Oath, after which they were addressed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Colonel Prof. Nebojsa Jovic, who congratulated them on the graduation and the beginning of professional medical and military career.
- All these years you were taught, worked and lived the life of a military doctor. You have seen what awaits you, and you were not afraid but you fulfilled your tasks even more diligently. We are proud of you because you have grown into wonderful young people, because only such persons can conscientiously work in accordance with the Hippocratic Oath and the oath to the homeland – Prof. Jovic pointed out.
The young military doctors will be promoted to the first officer ranks tomorrow, at the grand gathering in front of the Serbian Parliament.
Starting this year, the best-in-class of the MMA Faculty of Medicine will be awarded the prize from the newly established Foundation of "Professor Stevan Sefer". It is an artistic prize – paintings by Slobodanka Rakic Sefer. This year she presented her painting to Nemanja Jacimovic, the best cadet of the second class of the MMA Faculty of Medicine.
