Minister of Defence meets with Chinese Ambassador



Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic talked today with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Li Manchang about further enhancement of cooperation in the field of defence, in particular the military-economic, military medical and military-to-military cooperation.

The two officials agreed that the recent visit of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to Serbia confirmed the strategic partnership and friendship between the two countries. During the talks, Djordjevic stressed that Serbia's foreign policy goal is development of excellent relations with all partners in the East and the West and full respect of the policy of military neutrality.

Minister Djordjevic thanked the Chinese Ambassador onassistance through military and civilian donations to the Government of the People's Republic of China. During the recent visit by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forcesto China, the grant agreement worth 30 million yuan (about 4 million euros) was signed, while Chinese donation of 24 motor boats and 30 sets of handheld GPS devices have been recently realised.
