Stanislav Binicki Ensemble performed in Bijeljina





Stanislav Binicki Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence performed last night at the Vidovdan concert in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the Semberija Cultural Centre, the Ensemble performed together with the Serbian Singing Society from Bijeljina Srbadija (The Serbs), and the concert was attended by ministers of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, representatives of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the police, representatives of the city authorities, clergy and numerous visitors.

Vidovdan concert was organized on the occasion of the patron saint’s feast day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Srpska and feast day of the Memorial Temple of Holy Martyr Prince Lazar and all the holy Serbian martyrs at Field Marshal Stepa Stepanovic barracks in Bijeljina.

After playing the two anthems, of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, the audience enjoyed in the sound of the following compositions: Bojarka (Noble Woman), Vidovdan, Ovo je Srbija (This is Serbia), Tamo daleko (There, Far Away), then Vostani Serbije (Arise, Serbia), Oj Srbijo (Hey Serbia), numerous marches and several songs from the film Montevideo, Bog te video (Montevideo, God Bless You).

Conductors during the concert were Major Igor Mitrovic and Jelena Milicevic Trakilovic.

As a token of gratitude, Colonel Sreten Milosevic, Commander of the Field Marshal Stepa Stepanovic barracks presented Navy Commander Svetozar Vasileski with icon from the Memorial Temple, while Navy Commander Vasileski presented Colonel Milosevic with the book "Serbian Military Schools".

Also, Head of the Ensemble presented Protovicar Vasa Popovic, the Head of the Memorial Temple, with a book on military music and musicians and thanked everyone for many years of successful cooperation.

Upon calling for an encore, Srbadija Ensemble and Choir performed composition Vidovdan with standing ovations from the audience.
