General Dikovic visits China
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, has signed with the Chief of General Staff of the People's Liberation Army, General Fang Fenghui, a grant agreement between the Chinese PLA and our armed forces worth 30 million yuan, or about half a billion dinars, in Beijing, today.
It is the largest grant to the Serbian Armed Forces by the Chinese PLA, which, in the previous years, donated our armed forces with valuable quartermaster and valuable information and office equipment, ambulances and emergency response equipment.
The SAF Chief of General Staff thanked his Chinese counterpart on the valuable donation and pointed out that the Serbian Armed Forces is interested in the continuation and deepening of the military-to-military cooperation, particularly in view of the intensification of political, economic and military economic cooperation between Serbia and China.
Generals Dikovic and Fang discussed the possibilities for carrying out joint military exercises, professional development of the two armies in military educational institutions in Serbia and China, joint participation in peacekeeping operations, as well as on cooperation in the field of military health care and CBRN defence. General Dikovic invited General Fang to pay an official visit to the Republic of Serbia this year.
The SAF Chief of General Staff will meet tomorrow with General Fan Changlong, Vice President of the Central Military Commission, which is the highest military authority in China, responsible for managing of all armed forces in the country - the Chinese National Liberation Army, People's Armed Police Force and National Guard.
General Dikovic leads the delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces in a several-day visit to the People's Republic of China, which comes immediately after the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Serbia. Our delegation includes Major General Slavoljub Janićijevic, Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, Brigadier-General Stojan Konjikovac, Chief of Human Resources Department of the General Staff and Brigadier-General Predrag Simovic, Chief of Telecommunications and Information Department of the General Staff , as well as Colonel Stevan Kotarlic, Chief of Cabinet of the Chief of General Staff.
The delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces visited yesterday the elite Third Guard Division, in charge of the defence of Beijing, now – the CBRN Academy, while tomorrow, in Shanghai, they are going to visit the Second Military Medical Academy, the most important Chinese PLA institution for education in the field of medical sciences.
