The fifth class of Advanced Security and Defence School completes studies

In the premises of the Advanced Security and Defence School today, the Award Ceremony has been held for the participants in the 5th class of the highest level of training in the system of military education at which they were presented certificates of the successful completion of studies. The ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic, Assistant Minister for Human Resources Milos Jankovic, and Rector of the University of Defence Major General Mladen Vuruna, with their associates.

The certificates were conferred to the participants by Assistant Minister Jankovic who, congratulating them for the successfully completed studies, said that today's ceremony crowns the whole work and effort that has been invested over the past months.

- The knowledge that the participants have acquired in these studies qualifies them for the most responsible duties in the future. The bodies

and organizations, not only of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, but also of other countries from which the participants come, have recognized their capacities, knowledge and capabilities and sent them to this level of education so that they can upgrade these skills in order to make a broad picture they already have even broader – Deputy Minister Jankovic said, stressing, as a former ASDS student that is a great honour to be part of these studies.

According to the Head of ASDS, Colonel Zoran Lucic, today's ceremony was preceded by the presentation of the final works of the 5th class of advanced studies, which has been successfully completed by 15 attendees, including three officers from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Algeria.

- The five-month journey was not an easy one, neither for the responsible participants, not for the organizers of the studies. During the 101 working days, participants had the opportunity to hear lectures delivered by more than 30 lecturers from the country and abroad, holders of the highest academic titles and as many speeches by senior government officials – Colonel Lucic said stressing the importance of study trips and visits to relevant organizations and institutions in the country and abroad as part of the teaching process in these studies.

The Advanced Security and Defence Studies are an organizational unit in the National Defence School which annually realizes the highest level of studies for officers and civil servants. Participants in these studies are senior officials of ministries and agencies of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and of other countries in the region. The main objective of the advanced studies lasting 21 weeks is education and preparation of the participants for taking high offices in the national security system.
