Defence Minister extends best wishes on the occasion of the Day of the Guard



I extend to all members of the Guard best wishes as they celebrate 6th May – the Day of the unit.

By the Order of Prince Milos Obrenovic, on a day of St. George, Guardia was formed. Continuing the tradition which is now almost two centuries long, thanks to the exceptional expertise and professionalism, you have acquired the reputation of an elite unit of the Serbian Armed Forces. You have significantly improved the military protocol for the needs of the state and military leadership, thus contributing to preserving the reputation of both the Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia.

I am sure you will continue to professionally perform the set tasks, develop operational capability of your unit and continue to contribute to the successful creation of modern and functional Armed Forces. I am convinced that in the coming period you will prove and show that only the best ones can be the members of our oldest representative unit.

I congratulate you on the Day of your unit expecting that the noble virtues of your members will become a rule of conduct for all in our community and I wish you to continue to be an active factor in the process of new developments in the country and the region.
