General Dikovic visits members of the Serbian Armed Forces in Cyprus



The delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces, led by Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic, visited yesterday the members of the Serbian Armed Forces engaged in the UN multinational operation in Cyprus (UNFICYP).

Apart from General Dikovic, the delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces included Commander of the 3rd Army Brigade, Brigadier General Mile Jelic and Assistant Chief of Joint Operations Command for Operations, Colonel Zeljko Tramosljika.

In the United Nations-protected area in Nicosia, General Dikovic was welcomed by the Force Commander of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, Major General Kristin Lund. Generals Dikovic and Lund discussed the current political and security situation in Cyprus and the Middle East, as well as the engagement of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the UN mission in Cyprus.

In the Stefan Nemanja base in the Cypriot village of Pila, where the SAF platoon is accommodated, platoon leader Captain Bratislav Antic briefed General Dikovic about the tasks, responsibilities and obligations of the platoon during the mission and about the organization of life and work. General Dikovic visited members of the Serbian Armed Forces accommodated in the Camp General Stefanik in Famagusta, where he talked to the commander of Sector 4, Colonel Jozef Panko.

Making sure that members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the composition of UNFICYP responsibly perform all the tasks, General Dikovic assessed that in performing of their duties and exertion of military virtues they decently represent the Republic of Serbia.
