Donation for PELT Programme
Protocol on Donation for the Programme for English language training and testing for personnel of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces – PELT was signed at the British Council in Belgrade. The Protocol was signed by Brigadier General Dragosav Lackovic, Head of the Personnel Department of the Human Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence, and Clare Sears, Director for the Western Balkans at the British Council in Belgrade.
The donation includes IT equipment and six interactive "smart" boards for the Self-Access Centre for learning English in the Serbian Armed Forces, and for the realization of the PELT Programme with the cooperation and support of the Kingdom of Norway, United Kingdom, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden, and the United States and with the expert and logistic support of the British Council in Belgrade.
The PELT Programme of the Personnel Department of the Human Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence is part of organized efforts that are systematically implemented to achieve the demands for linguistic interoperability of the personnel of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as one of the conditions for their engagement in a multinational environment, and implemented in the framework of the Partnership for peace mechanisms and achieving the partnership goal G-0355 – Language Requirements.
The donation is a continuation of the planned activities which are implemented through partnership cooperation with PELT donor countries, for the development of efficient, long-term and stable system of courses, testing and evaluation of English language skills for employees at the Ministry of Defence and the members of the Serbian Armed Forces according to STANAG 6001.
