Best Wishes by Minister Vujovic on the occasion of the Day of IT Service



I would like to offer my best wishes to all members of the IT Service on the occasion of 21st February – the Day of the Service.

On that day in 1963, the VI Department was formed with the subordinated Data Processing Centre which was equipped with the first computer system in 1964. Later on, the computer centres were followers of the Data Processing Centre, both technically and in terms of organization and cadre. Therefore, this day is linked to the start of thntroducing of computer technique to the Armed Forces. Continuing a tradition of more than five decades, you have achieved notable and significant results in strengthening of the IT services and significantly contributed to the improvement of operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Although you are members of one of the youngest services in the Serbian Armed Forces, in the past you have shown that the functioning of your service is unimaginable without good computer techniques and organizationally and professionally qualified persons. The new requirements include continuous input of command and information system and its modernization.

I am sure you will be able to follow and adopt modern IT processes. I congratulate you on holiday, wishing you to continue to successfully realize the set tasks.
