Drafting a new National Action Plan commences
According to the Government Decision of 25 December 2015, a Government Working Group was formed to draft the National Action Plan for the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 - Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia (2016-2020). The Working Group held its first session on 11 January 2016, chaired by Predrag Peruničić, State Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The session was attended by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Zoran Djordjevic, in his capacity as President of the Political Council of the Government for the implementation of the National Action Plan for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 - Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia (2010-2015), who presented the Guidelines of the political Council for preparation of the Plan. In addition, the first session of the Working Group adopted the Preliminary Idea and the dynamics of the development of that Plan, which should be completed no later than 30 September this year.
In the period from 3 to 5 February 2016 in Vrdnik, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia organized a workshop with the aim to review the results of the evaluation of implementation of the previous plan and determining the methodology of the new National Action Plan,. This workshop is just the first in a series of workshops and meetings by the male and female members of the Working Group of the Government which should contribute to the development of this action document.
Also, for the realization of other tasks envisaged by the Decision of the Government, in the forthcoming period, the Working Group will make wider consultations with various relevant actors in the society, including the civil society organizations.
