Contribution to learning the English language
Defence delegates of donor countries of PELT: United States, Great Britain, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands and Director of the British Council in Belgrade visited the Centre for learning the English language of the Training and Doctrine Department of the SAF General Staff and on that occasion, Defence Aviation Attaché of the US Embassy in Belgrade Major Todd Andrewsen presented the donation - books, journals, magazines and newspapers in English.
Thanking for the donation, Brigadier General Dragosav Lackovic, Head of the Human Resources Department of the Human Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence, said that the donated material would help in methodical-professional preparation of teachers of English in adopting new learning methods (Task-based learning) for a more efficient use of SAC in developing operational capabilities of participants of semi-intensive English language courses, as part of a cycle of training of members of the Serbian Armed Forces for testing according to STANAG 6001 standard.
SAC is equipped with a multimedia cabinet with a smart board and computer, digital video and audio equipment, the most modern software for learning English, library of books, as well as always available internet connection to visit sites specifically designed for teaching general and military English language.
In order to further modernize SAC, it has been planned to continue the cooperation of experts from the Centre for Distance Learning of the Military Academy and the English teachers to develop teaching materials for online courses in English. Technological modernization and the use of modern technologies and software platforms will ensure the effectiveness and exchange of teaching process and materials and tests through mutual communication between 14 functionally equipped SACs in SAF garrisons.
