Soldiers are not waiters

In response to the tendentious and inaccurate reporting on the deployment of SAF members on New Year's Eve in Krusevac, we hereby inform the public that the soldiers were not deployed in this event as waiters, as part of the media maliciously claims, but in accordance with the prescribed procedures for the use of quartermaster equipment. It is about granting the use of so-called caravan kitchens, where food and hot drinks under high pressure are prepared, because of which unauthorized handling such equipment is prohibited.

We emphasize that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces have met in numerous events the request of the organizers and granted the use of caravan kitchen. In 2015 alone, there were eleven such events of different character, such as the humanitarian action of the Association of War Invalids in Kraljevo, sports event "Licka Olympics" in Apatin, consecration of the newly built church in the village of Ribasevina near Uzice, music festival "Hearts and Harmony" in Sombor, the celebration of "Days of Nikola Tesla", and others. It is true that the caravan kitchens were also lent on New Year’s Eves in some cities, and Krusevac is no exception in this sense.

When approving such services without compensation, the goal is to help the organization of events, but also to use the caravan kitchens in accordance with regulations that require engagement of trained soldiers, so as not to endanger the safety of people attending the event.
