No new documents, no insults




In the interest of the truth about the yesterday’s control visit of Ombudsman and his associates to the Military Security Agency (VBA), I hereby state the following facts.

Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic with two associates paid the VBA the announced control visit on 6th May at noon. They were welcomed at the Ministry of Defence by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and me as the VBA Director, with our associates. It is inappropriate to say that Minister Gasic, who was at his workplace, “came at the meeting unannounced”, as Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic stated, as he welcomed the guests in the manner of a good host.

I stress that there are no new documents about the event on the Pride Parade that have not been already presented at the session of the Security Services Control Committee of the National Assembly.

I point out that, during the control visit, no insults or provocations were said to Ombudsman at any moment. When the discussion was opened about jurisdictions and legal authorities of the Ombudsman and other institutions of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Jankovic abruptly ended the control without any reason, and left the VBA offices.
