Agreement on Cooperation between the University of Defence and the Austrian National Defence Academy signed
Rector of the University of Defence Major General Prof. Mladen Vuruna and Head of Austrian National Defence Academy, Lieutenant-General Erich Citkovic signed a letter of intent between the two military institutions of higher education at the Rectorate of the University of Defence today.This is a document related to continuation of bilateral military cooperation as well as cooperation in the areas of research and education.
According to General Vuruna, such agreement gives new possibilities when it comes to the expansion of cooperation, particularly education of officers for higher positions and studies of the second and third degree. He also recalled that the officers of our army attended studies in Austria, and likewise their Austrian counterparts with us, and that cadets of the Military Academy have already had traditional meetings with students of the Austrian National Defence Academy.
General Citkovic also stressed the importance of cooperation in view of the security challenges of the modern world, which have become more specific and which are becoming increasingly difficult to address individually. Therefore, as he pointed out, cooperation in the field of training and education is becoming increasingly important.
