Serbia received the Certificate on Codification
Delegation of the Ministry of Defence participated in the 106th meeting of the Main Group of the NATO Codification Committee AC/135 held at the NATO Support Agency (NSPA) on November 18-20 in Luxemburg.
The Certificate was signed by NATO Codification Committee Chairman Colonel Marek Dalkovski and the Director of the Directorate of Standardization, Codification and Metrology Colonel Zoran Spasojevic.
The process of implementation of the NATO codification system within the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia began in 2010 and ended in 2013 with testing of capabilities of the National Codification Bureau of Serbia. The Republic of Serbia has become the tenth country of non-NATO countries that independently perform codification of means manufactured in their territory.
Codification is particularly important for improvement of logistic support in all missions of the Armed Forces of Serbia, with providing necessary data for managing the lifespan of arms and military equipment. At the same time, codification is a necessary condition for import and export of national products in the frame of military technical cooperation with other countries. As the codification system today encompasses almost seventy countries, conditions have been created for the products of Serbia’s defence industry to be visible in the world market, which will facilitate their sales.
