The Armed Forces helping the residents of Gola Glava and Medvedja
Answering to pleas of residents of Gola Glava and Medvedja, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic ordered another deployment of SAF units in placing a pontoon bridge and reparation of the existing one in these locations.SAF Engineering units are already in the field and are analyzing the situation in the village Gola Glava in the Municipality of Valjevo where the bridge over the Ub River has collapsed during the floods in May, and the bridge in Medvedja in the Municiapality of Trstenik which has become unsafe for traffic.
SAF members are still deployed in reparation of damage of floods that hit the Republic of Serbia this year. Currently, there are over 50 SAF members deployed in four different locations with over ten engineering machines and 12 heavy mechanized bridges that allow for a normalization of life and work in many villages and municipalities in Serbia.
Only in Grabovica village, SAF members have removed 18 tons of waste, completed 2400 meters of road and finished biological decontamination of 29000 square meters of terrain.
272 persons are still temporarily situated in military objects in Obrenovac and Svilajnac.
