President Tadic in "First Partisan"

Serbian President Boris Tadic has visited Uzice today and on this occasion he visited the ammunition factory Prvi Partizan – special-purpose production. During the visit, the president laid a white rose beside the memorial plaque erected in memory of the victims in the accident that occurred in that factory on 3 September 2009.

Speaking about the reasons for today's visit, President Tadic reminded of the great tragedy that occurred "in a very promising plant for the production of ammunition."

- We must take care of the way to protect workers and raise the level of protective measures, but also to educate people to take care of themselves and others in work - said President Tadic thanking once again to the Mayor of municipality and the municipal services for timely response at the time of the tragedy and the aftermath.

In addition to appeals for protection at work, according to President Tadic, the current visit is an opportunity for understanding the prospects for expansion of production, because, as he pointed out, we sell virtually everything we produce in the military industry our country.

- Now we are faced with some kind of straits in terms of investments to the special-purpose production and the defence sector, because there is a large and unexplored market globally. We could think about securing new investments and also in new technologies that would maximally protect citizens – President Tadic said.

During the today's visit to Uzice, the President was accompanied by Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning, Oliver Dulic, and the Mayor of this town Jovan Markovic visited the new City Stadium.
