Cacak TRZ marks its 85th anniversary
On the 85th anniversary today at the Technical Overhaul Institute Cacak a commemorative ceremony was held today. The meeting was attended by the delegations of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia, led by Deputy Commander of the Army Brigadier General Vidoje Zivkovic and Chief of Logistics of the General Staff, Brigadier General Danko Jovanovic, local self-governments, business partners of the Institute and many citizens.On that occasion, in the Overhaul Institute, guests and visitors had the opportunity to see learn more about the equipment used, the cargo and combat vehicles, weapons and armaments and other resources that this institution repairs for the army’s needs.
Deputy Director of the Technical Overhaul Institute Cacak Lieutenant Bio?anin Stojko said that in the past 85 years the status of institutions, organization and capacity have changed, but never its main task.
- During the existence of the Institute maintained the weapons and military equipment, thus representing a significant capacity for the defense of our country- said Lt. Col. Bio?anin, adding that the Repair Institute was at the front fighting for the safety of technical equipment of the Army both in war and peace time.
He also said that the turning point in the existence of the Institute was its subordination to the Command of the Army in March 2010 which approximated the overhaul of institutions closer to the beneficiaries and the benefits of such solutions were immediately visible.
Lt. Col. Bio?anin expressed belief that the Institute in Cacak finally had found its proper place and position in the defense system, and that in the future it will develop and modernize the facilities.- There are few institutions that have existed for so long, with many ups and downs, and which have overcome the difficulties and survived thanks to its superbly qualified staff- General Zivkovic said, congratulating the members of the Institute their anniversary. Thanks to the top management, it has grown into a renowned institution.
The precursor of the Technical Institute is the Engineering Technical Repair Institute, which was created 30th September 1925, when the State Council of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, supported the decision of Cacak Municipality on the Transfer of land for its construction.
