Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff visits the First Army Brigade
Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Miloje Miletic, with his staff, visited today units of the First Army Brigade. The tour began in the barracks “Bosko Palkovljevic Pinki” in Sremska Mitrovica, and then the delegation of the General Staff visited the barracks, “Backa” in Backa Topola, and activity was completed by visiting the barracks in Novi Sad, “Jugovicevo” and “Fortress”.
Commander of the Land Forces Lieutenant General Ljubisa Dikovic and Deputy Commander of the First Brigade Colonel Zeljko Tramošljika reported to the Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff on the situation in the unit and the planned tasks.
“The aim of the visit is to identify the extent to which the objectives in maintenance and improvement of the operational capabilities are realized and to gain an insight into the achieved level of professionalism, where the number of professional soldiers received is also important, and to see to what extent we are ready to accept a new way of work and professionalism required to overcome the problems which this process entails”, General Miletic said on that occasion. He added that this is the way to find out the most rational solutions to these problems.
The Chief of the General recalled of the importance of continuous advancement of the members the Serbian Armed Forces, stressing the importance of professional qualification, physical training and knowledge of English language.
General Miletic pointed out that the experience shows that women who have been in the professional ranks of our Armed Forces since recently are equally capable of exercising many functions that were considered traditionally men's occupation.
After having the tour of the units, the measures to improve the present situation were defined.
