Minister Gašić visits members of the Serbian Armed Forces on Easter
On Easter, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited members of the 310th Air Defence Self-Propelled Missile Battalion of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade who are engaged in the vicinity of Kragujevac as part of the permanently deployed forces for the control and protection of Serbian airspace.
Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, was also present at the visit.
On this occasion, Minister Gašić congratulated the members of the unit on the greatest Christian holiday and expressed his satisfaction to be spending Easter morning with members of the brigade that has been decorated several times for its extraordinary efforts in defending its country.
- I am grateful, just as the citizens of the Republic of Serbia are grateful to you, for honourably, responsibly and professionally performing your duties and protecting our skies on this holiday. On this day that celebrates the very core of Christianity – victory over death, let us remember all the immortals who fell for the freedom of our country and people. Among them are members of your heroic 250th Missile Brigade. Your dedication, effort and commitment deserve and have the greatest respect of our people. I would like to say to the Serbian citizens that, while they celebrate in peace and prosperity with their loved ones, personnel of the Serbian Armed Forces are protecting our freedom and independence. That is how it was and will be forever – Minister Gašić said and once again conveyed Easter wishes to all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and all citizens of our country who are celebrating this holiday today.
During today’s tour of the Air Defence Self-Propelled Missile Battery “Kub-M”, he spoke with members of the Serbian Armed Forces and made sure that they are ready to implement all the assigned tasks.
At the end of the tour, Brigadier General Novica Gogić, Commander of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, presented Minister Gašić with the unit’n s plaque as a gesture of thanks for the tour and socialising with the unit personnel on Easter.
Today’s tour included also Major General Brane Krnjajić, Air Force and Air Defence Commander, and Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Simić, Commander of the 310th Air Defence Self-Propelled Missile Battalion.
