Special Purpose MP Detachment “Kobre” Day
A military ceremony to mark the Special Purpose MP Detachment "Kobre" Day was held today at the Vasa Čarapić barracks in Belgrade. The unit commemorates April 14, 1978, when the Military Police Counter-Terrorism Squad was formed, whose traditions the Detachment continues today.
In front of unit members standing in line, congratulatory messages were read, past year’s work results were summed up and the most deserving individuals were presented with awards and commendations. The summary of past year’s results emphasized the unit’s continued strengthening and improvement of operational capabilities and competence, which the unit members had demonstrated by successfully carrying out all the tasks assigned to them, but also through notable performances in competitions in the country and abroad.
The Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Kobre” is a unit directly subordinate to the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and is responsible for protecting persons and facilities and keeping them safe from terrorism.
