T-72M Tank Battalion conducts tactical exercise
The T-72M Tank Battalion has conducted a tactical exercise at the training areas in the vicinity of Niš, which tested the tank crews’ ability to engage in combat during offensive operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Following the exercise scenario, professional unit members carried out actions and procedures after the alert was sounded, moving into the waiting position and preparing to reach the line as directed by the superior command, while the command monitored and evaluated the elements of the units’ operational capabilities and skills necessary to carry out tasks pertaining to the first mission of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The tactical exercise improved the unit’s capability for commanding and carrying out combat missions, tested its readiness to respond to an alert and ability to carry out tasks during Army operations.The T-72M Tank Battalion, whose main asset is the T-72MS tank, is an evolution unit of the Army characterized by great firepower and used for armoured and anti-armour warfare, as well as for fast and powerful breakthroughs. It can conduct operations on its own or in cooperation with other units of the Army and Air Force and Air Defence.
