Ministry of Defence, Serbian Orthodox Church sign land use agreement
Today, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Bishop Ignatije of Braničevo signed an agreement that allows the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to use a plot of land belonging to the Serbian Orthodox Church - the Diocese of Braničevo, which is located next to the Pasuljanske Livade Military Complex.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Military Academy will use the aforementioned lot of land free of charge for training and firing practices using personal and collective weapons.According to Minister Gašić, the signing of the agreement is a result of good cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Orthodox Church.
- I would like to thank the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Diocese of Braničevo for making the plot of land adjacent to the Pasuljanske Livade Training Area available to our military, which will use is to conduct exercises and further develop its operational capabilities. By providing additional training space, we are improving the readiness our units – Minister Gašić said, adding that the cooperation between the military and the church is based on mutual trust, shared values and being at the service of people.
