SAF Infantry Company undergoes pre-deployment skills evaluation

An infantry company drawn from the 1st Army Brigade, which is due for deployment with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in summer, has successfully passed its pre-deployment skills evaluation.
The infantry company conducted Tactical Exercise Serbian Shield 2025 this week at Base South and Borovac Training Area, where a team of evaluators from the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff conducted the evaluation.

During the exercise, which was conducted in an environment simulating the real-world situation and security challenges in the mission area, members of the infantry company solved tactical tasks, all the while demonstrating exceptional tactical skills, coordination and knowledge of SOPs.

The evaluation results indicate that the unit is fully prepared for all the tasks awaiting them in the mission area, including the management of activities in the AOR, patrolling, manning checkpoints and responding to crisis situations. The evaluation has confirmed that team work and efficiency have been improved in previous training and tactical exercises.
What awaits the unit members next are final preparations, where they will familiarize themselves with the culture and security situation in the region they are deploying to. The aim of the preparation is for the unit members to adapt to the local circumstances as best as possible.

The Serbian Armed Forces have been contributing a company-sized infantry unit to UNIFIL since 2013, and, currently, our staff officers, a force protection platoon and a national support element are serving in the mission area.
By participating in peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to building and safeguarding peace in the world, while simultaneously demonstrating their professionalism and ability to engage their forces and resources within a multinational framework. In addition to building operational capabilities and strengthening interoperability, missions like this also contribute to developing international cooperation and strengthening the reputation of our country.
