New issue of Odbrana

In the April issue of Odbrana Magazine, we remind you of two significant dates – Remembrance Day commemorating the defence of the FRY homeland against the NATO aggression and the upcoming Serbian Armed Forces Day.
The System section contains several texts. Our reporters and photo-journalists have visited the First Pontonier Battalion of the River Flotilla and the 714th Anti-Tank Helicopter Squadron to check how training is conducted in those units.

We have marked the 15th anniversary of the SAF Simulation Training Centre with an appropriate text. We also deal with “Akademac”, a cadet magazine that is available again after a decades-long break.  This issue also deals with the best athletes in our military schools.

On the occasion of April 4 – International Mine Awareness Day, we have visited the Mine Action Centre of the Republic of Serbia, which carries out operations relating to humanitarian demining and conducts surveys of the locations contaminated with cluster munitions, mines and other UXO.

The Global section contains an account of Serbia’s participation in the International Defence Exhibition IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

This issue devotes special attention to tradition. In view of the forthcoming April 9, the day when the Battle of Košare began in 1999, we bring you a story that reminds us of the heroism of the people who at the time defended their homeland, as well as a special dimension of the battle, whose destiny was determined by the position of the Košare outpost. Find out who the writers in uniform were - officers who fought with sabre and quill in the Great War.

The History section contains two stories. The first one deals with Nazi crimes in Banat, and the second one is dedicated to an exhibition at the Historical Museum of Serbia devoted to King Milan Obrenović. Find out how this sovereign set the path for the development of the Serbian army.

This issue’s Culture section deals with the participation of Media Centre “Odbrana” in the International Book Fair in Novi Sad.
