SAF infantry company preparing for peacekeeping operation in Lebanon
Collective training of an infantry company drawn from the 1st Army Brigade, which is due for deployment with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in summer, is underway at Base South and Borovac Training Area.

During the first preparation phase, professional soldiers and leaders completed tactical, firearms, and physical training to brush up their knowledge and skills and get ready for the collective training.

— The preparation started with individual training in Bačka Topola, where a special focus was placed on the personnel getting to know each other and improving their individual skills. Following that, we have moved onto the collective training phase at Base South near Bujanovac, where we are mainly practising tactical procedures and concrete tasks using plausible mission-based scenarios. The aim of this training phase is to train each individual for the jobs they will be assigned to and prepare them for real challenges they might face on the ground. I am sure that, thanks to thorough preparations and high motivation, we will be up to the task that has been entrusted to us and will be able to successfully contribute to peace in the mission area — says Captain Dražić.

The Serbian Armed Forces have been contributing a company-sized infantry unit to UNIFIL since 2013, and, currently, Serbian staff officers, a force protection platoon and a national support element are serving in the UNIFIL area of operations.
