Visit by Chief of Defence Staff of Hungarian Defence Forces

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today in Belgrade with the Chief of the Defence Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, General Gábor Böröndi, who is paying a two-day return visit to our country at the invitation of General Mojsilović.
The meeting at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, where a welcoming ceremony was held for the Hungarian delegation, discussed the security situation in the region and the world and the activities undertaken by the two countries’ militaries aimed at strengthening capabilities, interoperability and regional stability.

During the meeting, the officials stated that bilateral military cooperation was intensive and substantial and that it should be further developed in the future, in all areas of mutual interest. Joint activities carried out by the Serbian and Hungarian ground and air forces were singled out as cooperation priorities.
It was also emphasized that the engagement of the Hungarian contingent with the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo and Metohija contributed to the improvement of security situation in our southern province and to the strengthening of good neighbourly relations between Serbia and Hungary.

General Böröndi’s visit reflects continuity in high-level activities carried out by the two militaries and is in keeping with a high-level agreement to intensify military-to-military cooperation.
The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff visited the Hungarian Defence Forces in late 2023. High-level bilateral meetings like this contribute to mutual understanding and trust and provide a significant impetus to the improvement of cooperation in the field of defence.
