Minister of Defence meets with Chief of Defence Staff of Hungary



Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with the Chief of Defence Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, General Gábor Böröndi.
At the meeting, Minister Gašić said that the relations between Serbia and Hungary were at a historic high and that the positive trend in the development of bilateral defence relations between the two countries was also reflected in a series of successful meetings between high-level delegations. He particularly emphasized the friendship between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

The Minister of Defence reminded that Serbia was committed to a peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue with Priština, with the aim of improving the lives of all citizens of Kosovo and Metohija, while protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity and fully respecting UNSCR 1244 and the Military Technical Agreement.
At today’s meeting, Minister Gašić pointed out that the defence cooperation between the two countries was intensive and substantial and marked by continuous improvement in quality and quantity, and expressed his hope that in the future efforts would be aimed primarily at strengthening military-to-military and military technical cooperation.   
General Böröndi thanked Minister Gašić for the meeting and expressed his conviction that the meeting with the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, would be mutually beneficial for both countries and militaries, i.e. that it would provide strong impetus to the enhancement of military-to-military cooperation.
