Strengthening MP units: cutting-edge weapons, new soldiers in training

Training of newly admitted soldiers is underway at MP battalions of the Army. The soldiers are being trained in performing military police and general security tasks at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
These are professional soldiers who have been recruited for military police units from civilian life through an open competition or service members who have been selected through an internal competition or transferred from other units of the Serbian Armed Forces on personal request.

The training gradually introduces them to their primary duties, i.e. it provides them with the knowledge and skills they need to perform MP tasks and exercise official military policy authority in their areas of responsibility.
The soldiers are undergoing weapons, tactical and military police training. They are practicing the supervision of access control points, patrol procedures and courses of action when encountering a suspect, securing the area, facilities and protected persons and conducting firing practices using all types of military police armament.

Sergeant Aleksandar Todorović, a training instructor with the Fifth MP Battalion, says that the soldiers have demonstrated great motivation and desire to work in MP units, and adds that the youngest recruits will soon face firing practices and live fire drills in order to reach full combat capability.
MP units are an important segment of the Serbian Armed Forces. They are equipped with cutting-edge assets and weapons of domestic and foreign production, which, along with continuous training, ensures that they have the required capabilities to carry out assignments and tasks under law, other regulations and commander’s orders.
