SAF contingent in Sinai: working professionally and responsibly in service of peace
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces serving with the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in the Sinai Peninsula, perform their peacekeeping tasks professionally and responsibly, as testified by their partners and superiors at the mission HQ.

The Head of the Operations Department (J-3), Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Major General Gordan Pavlović, visited them this week. General Pavlović arrived in the mission area, accompanied by the Head of the Peacekeeping Operations Centre, Colonel Mirjana Milenković, to inspect the conditions in which members of the Serbian Armed Forces work.
General Pavlović attended our contingent’s handover/takeover ceremony. On that occasion he commended our personnel who had performed all their tasks professionally and responsibly since September 2024, and wished the new rotation much success in their work, expressing his belief that they would follow in the footsteps of their predecessors.

The Multinational Force and Observes was established by the protocol signed between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel in 1981, with the aim of supervising the implementation of the security provisions of the 1978 Egyptian-Israeli Treaty of Peace. The Serbian Armed Forces commenced providing the MFO with personnel in July 2023, by deploying a group of SAF engineers to serve within the American contingent, thus helping strengthen Serbia’s bilateral relationship with the United States of America and our foreign policy position.
