Air defence units boast high combat readiness

Members of the air defence artillery-missile units that have been equipped with cutting-edge combat systems over the past few years train daily in an effort to maintain and improve their ability to defend the Serbian Armed Forces and the territory of the Republic of Serbia against aerial reconnaissance and attacks.
Such is the case in a battalion of the 250th AD Missile Brigade armed with Pantsir artillery-missile systems, where the training of professional members is one of the principal tasks, along with being on operational duty within the air defence system.

At their peacetime stations, combat crews practice all activities related to the preparation and execution of anti-aircraft operations, including arming combat vehicles with missiles and artillery ammunition, marching and gun emplacement, and combat assignments during the preparation and execution phases of anti-aircraft operations.

In order to achieve the necessary level of competence and coordination of all crew members and exploit the potential of the Pantsir system to the fullest, focus is placed on procedures carried out during initial and immediate preparations and execution of electronic engagement against real and mock targets.
The Pantsir artillery-missile system is used for aerial defence of small sized military facilities, administrative and political buildings, businesses, areas and routes. It can engage planes, helicopters, cruise missiles, UAVs and guided aerial bombs, and can even be used against ground targets. Its integration into the air defence system has improved the ability of air defence units to protect the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
