Minister of Defence meets with Indonesian ambassador



Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mochammad Chandra Widya Yudha.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Gašić thanked the Indonesian ambassador for his engagement while serving as ambassador to our country and described the political relations between Serbia and Indonesia as good, without any open issues and with a tendency towards further improvement. He added that cooperation between the two countries was characterized by traditional friendship and solidarity.

According to the Minister of Defence, regional stability is in the strategic interest of Serbia and, in this sense, there is a regular high-level political dialogue between Serbia and its partners, including Indonesia, which additionally strengthens bilateral relations between the two countries.
He expressed his gratitude for Indonesia's principled support for Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty regarding Kosovo and Metohija.

Speaking about the defence cooperation between the two countries, they agreed that there was room for its further improvement in the coming period, particularly cooperation in the fields of science, technology and defence economics.
  The Ambassador of Indonesia thanked Minister Gašić for the courteous reception and conversation at the end of his mission in Serbia.
