Free admission to Military Museum on Statehood Day
Тhe Military Museum in Kalemegdan Park will offer free admission to all visitors on February 15-16, to mark Sretenje – Serbian Statehood Day.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., citizens will be able to see exhibits from the First and Second Serbian Uprisings displayed as part of the permanent museum exhibition, as well as the rebels’ weapons and military equipment, the most significant of which are the weapons of Hajduk Veljko Petrović and other important persons in both uprisings. Visitors will also be able to see two cannons that played an important part in the victories of the Serbian army. A special part of the exhibition is dedicated to the uniforms of that time – from festive folk costumes to the uniforms worn after the introduction of regular troops until the end of the Second Serbian Uprising.
Visitors will be able to see the original rebels’ flags and all the official flags of the modern Serbian state that were carried since the first days of the rebellion.
