Minister Gašić visits 3rd Training Centre in Leskovac
As part of his regular tour of the Serbian Armed Forces units, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited today the Third Training Centre of the Training Command, located at Field Marshal Petar Bojović Barracks in Leskovac. The commander of the Third Training Centre, Colonel Zoran Cvetković, informed the Minister of Defence of the unit’s primary tasks and plans for the coming period.
According to Minister Gašić, today’s visit presented an opportunity for him to speak with members of the centre about their working conditions and ways to improve them, accommodation facilities, and the challenges they face. - Members of this centre have an extremely important role in training military service volunteers. They make great efforts to form physically fit, well-trained and motivated soldiers, which I have to commend them for. Since their work is primarily focused on training young men and women in military profession, I am sure that they will be equally successful at training conscripts, when the decision is made to go ahead with it. We will continue to invest in infrastructure and equipment in order to provide the best possible working and training conditions for both soldiers who are performing military service and members of the Third Training Centre – said Minister Gašić.
He also paid his respects at the memorial dedicated to the heroes who died in the AOR of the 549th Motorized Brigade fighting to defend the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Minister Gašić was accompanied on his tour by the Deputy Commander of the Training Command, Brigadier General Nebojša Cvetković, the Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Goran Momčilović, and the Head of the Training and Doctrine Department (J-7), Brigadier General Muharem Fazlić.
