SAF scouts conduct tactical cold weather training

Over the past several days, members of the Army reconnaissance units have been conducting tactical cold weather training at the training areas in snow-covered mountains.
The training is part of regular training activities conducted by reconnaissance units, and its goal is to ensure that professional members maintain a high level of proficiency in carrying out intelligence tasks during operations conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces.

The activities carried out in the mountains have included practicing the tactics and procedures for reconnaissance patrols, raids and ambushes, as well as scouting the area to collect intelligence on enemy forces and the territory, using modern observation devices that the Serbian Armed Forces units are equipped with.

Different situations and environments in which scouts carry out their missions require resourcefulness and creativity. Therefore, in addition to standard equipment, scouts have been trained to use resources found in the field to build facilities and prepare food.  They have also done conditioning for alpine skiing.
The combat ability of the Serbian Armed Forces reconnaissance units has been improved in the past period. In addition to intensive training, equipping these units with the best weapons and military equipment continues, so that they can successfully carry out their missions in a contemporary theatre of operations and provide reliable and timely intelligence for the Serbian Armed Forces troops.
